On September 15, No.3 2350TEU containership “Chekiang” built by CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding Company Limited for the China Navigation Co. Pte. Ltd (NGPL) was delivered successfully from the production base in Longxue.
This series of boxship is an energy-saving and environmental-friendly vessel. It features 186m in length overall, 32.20m in width and 16.90m in depth with the design draft of 8.5m. Besides, it adopted a straight bow with a hanging rudder and ducted fan propeller.
On September 10, the 6500 CUM ethylene tanker “Kun Shun” built by Marine Design and Research Institute of China (MARIC) was successfully delivered to Nanjing Tanker Corporation from China Merchants Jinling Shipyard (Nanjing) Co., Ltd.
With double cylindrical type C tanks, it is 113m in length overall, 18m in width. they operate up to the design pressure of 4.5 bar. The boiling point of this LNG tanker is -140 degree Celsius with cargo capacity of 6500 m3. Besides, it can carry a variety of liquefied gas and chemical gases such as ethylene, ethane, propylene, propane, and anhydrous ammonia.
The naming and closing ceremony of No.9 208,000 DWT bulk carrier was held on the morning of September 7th.
It is 299.95m in length, 25m in depth, 50m in width with the scantling draft of 18.45m. the shipowner, Pan Ocean Co., Ltd., placed an order of two vessels from the New Times Shipyard. It was constructed on September 16, 2019, completed final erection on the drydock on March 26, 2020 and launched from the shipyard on June 29.
On September 1, the signing ceremony for the construction of an 8000 DWT stainless steel chemical tanker was held in Shanghai. A letter of intent was signed between COSCO Shipping(Shanghai) Co., Ltd. and Chongqing Chuandong Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd. It is also the first intelligent 8000 DWT stainless steel chemical / product oil tanker. This newbuilding is 119 in length overall, 18.5m in width, 9.4m in depth with the design draft of 6.3m. It is classed into CCS under the five-starred red flag at 12.8 knots of service speed and its endurance is about 6000 n miles in accordance with rules for construction and equipment of type II ships carrying dangerous liquid chemicals in bulk.
On the morning of August 31, the 2750TEU containership “LAE CHIEF” built by CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding Company Limited was named and delivered to China Navigation Co. Pte. Ltd at the Longxue factory area.
This series of vessels is more environmental-friendly and energy-saving than the existing ones owned by shipowners and it can carry dry cargo containers, refrigerated containers and dangerous goods containers. Besides, it is 186m in length, 35.2m in width and 17.1m in depth with 8.5m of design draught. It is equipped with a slow-speed main engine, a controllable pitch propeller and a twisted rudder with bulb.
Daehan Shipbuilding, DNV GL join forces on developing small-scale LPG carriers
Korea’s Daehan Shipbuilding has entered into a joint development project with classification society DNV GL to develop small-size LPG carriers.
Due to tightened emission regulations and a shale gas boom, the demand for LPG and LNG carriers is expected to increase. A hike in freight rates also stimulates the growth in LPG carrier orders.
To keep pace with this industrial trend and seize opportunities, Daehan Shipbuilding has decided to diversify its ship type lines and start to develop LPG carriers
“DHSC already established its position as a reliable shipbuilder with the capability to build different ship types other than gas carriers. As the industry is changing rapidly, we are now strengthening our competitiveness by developing LPG carriers and show our technological competence to ship owners,” said Seong Jeong, DHSC President & CEO.
DNV GL will review the basic and detailed designs for the vessels in accordance with the relevant rules and regulations and provide technical advice and recommendations to help enhance the design development.
On August 26, The 85m Subsea Support Vessel (DN85M-6) built by Fujian Southeast Shipyard Co., Ltd was successfully delivered.
It is 85m in length overall, 22m in width, 8m in depth with the design draft of 6.3m. With the moon pool, it features a deck crane with a capacity of approximately 100 tons at 10m outreach and it is equipped with two main engines, two Azimuth thrusters, and bow thrusters. Besides, this ABS ship has a four-point mooring, anti-heeling system and helideck capable of the reception of a Sikorsky S61.
On August 25th, the 2500 TEU container ship was launched from Jiangnan Shipyard(Group) CO., Ltd. As scheduled.
This vessel is 195m in length overall, 191.8m in LPP, 32.25m in width and 17m in depth. The design draft is 10m, the scantling draft is 11.2m and the service speed is no less than 20 knots. Besides, there are 922 containers in the cargo hold, 1725 containers and 226 refrigerated containers on the deck. With the latest exhaust gas cleaning systems (scrubbers), this vessel is energy-efficient, environmental-friendly, automatic and reliable.
On August 21st, Guangzhou Shipyard International Company Limited (GSI) subordinated by China State Shipbuilding Co. Ltd. (CSSC) delivered its first MR chemical/product oil tanker to IMC Group and CSSC Leasing in eight newbuilding series and named it as “Maritime Comity”.
It is 183m in length overall, 35m in width, 18.5m in depth with 10.5m of the design draft. It is a Type two chemical tanker with energy-saving, environmental-friendly and high-efficient features as per MARPOL Tier Three and NECA requirements. Besides, it can load 22 kinds of liquid cargoes without contamination among those chemicals, catering for loading and unloading requirements mostly and providing more choices and flexibility for shipowners in the operation.
The delivery ceremony of the third E-Flexer RoPax Galicia built by China Merchants Jinling Shipyard(Weihai) CO., LTD. for Stena was delivered on August 20th.
This RoPax ferry is 214.5m in length, 27.8m in width with the design draft of 6.4m at a service speed of 22 knots. It is classified into DNV GL, meeting the latest international requirements, such as Class 1C and SRTP（Safe Return to Port). It is fitted with scrubbers in accordance with the updated sulfur emission limit. Besides, it can accommodate 1015 passengers and more than 300 cars, such as automobiles, trucks and trailers. It also features store, bar, playhouse, VIP lounge, playground, restaurant, Café and sundeck as the cruise ship, integrating sightseeing, leisure and recreation.
