On May 9th, the second 208,000 DWT bulk carrier “HAGEN OLDENDORFF” was successfully signed and delivered to China Development Bank Financial Leasing Co., Ltd. (CDB Leasing) by COSCO Shipping Industry (Yangzhou) 20 days ahead of delivery time under the contract, marking the final stages of this project.
On May 6th, Wuhu Shipyard Co., Ltd ushered in the two periods of production. The first mini general cargo ship “JSW ARJUNGAD” for JSW Steel Co., Ltd. started its trial from the shipyard at 8:28 and the 8000 DWT #3 mini bulker was successfully launched on 9:58.
On May 4, the second 87m platform supply vessel, ENAV SAGUARO, was delivered to ENAV OFFSHORE by Mawei Shipbuilding.
It is 87.25m in length overall, 18.80m in width, 7.4m in depth at a speed of 14.4 knots. Besides, it is classed into ABS under the latest design requirements, carrying 5100DWT goods.
On April 27, Dayang Offshore Equipment, subordinate to CASIC ( China aerospace science and industry corporation) successfully launched the No.1 13000DWT Chemical tanker for its customer LT Marine.
The vessel is classed under BV with 12 liquid cargo tanks and two slop tanks. It is 119.99m in molded length, 21.8m in molded width and 11.70m in molded depth.
On April 25, the first batch of 12690 TEU container ships built by Yangzijiang Shipbuilding, two of which are the largest ones ever for Costamare Inc, the Greek shipping company.
On April 23, the naming and delivery ceremony of “Long May”, 210,000 DWT bulk carrier, built by Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co., LTD. (SWS) for Foremost Group was held successfully.
“ Long May” is the first 210,000 DWT Newcastlemax bulk carrier for shipowners since the delivery of four 180,000 DWT bulkers last year. It is 299.88m in length, 50m in width and 25.2m in depth and a design draft of 16.1m, which meets the requirements of the new code TIER III and HCSR. In addition, it is registered in the ABS with scrubbers.
The signing ceremony of 325,000 DWT ore carrier ordered by SK Shipping by Dalian shipbuilding industry Co., Ltd (DSIC) was held on April 20. The “K. Iron Mountain” is the first vessel delivered since the company resumed to work this year.
The vessel is classified by the Korean Register of Shipping and Lloyd’s Register. Besides, it is 339.90m in length, 62m in width and 29.50m in depth.
April 20th, 2020, Aframax specialist Lundqvist Rederierna has returned to Sumitomo Heavy Industries in Japan. Brokers report the Finnish owner has ordered another 112,000 DWT Aframax tanker at the yard. The ship will deliver in early 2022. No price has been reported.
Last year the Scandinavian owner sold two of its oldest Aframaxes. European shipping database lists 10 tankers in the current Lundqvist fleet.
At 6 a.m. on April 15, more than 50 engineers and technicians were poised for the launch of No.8 1750 TEU containers on the No.2 slipway by COSCO SHIPPING HEAVY INDUSTRY CO., LTD.
No.5 15,500 DWT RoRo built by Nanjing Jinling Shipyard Company Limited for Danish DFDS completed sea trials at Jinling Wharf in Jiangsu province on April 11.
The next day, No.7 82000DWT bulk carrier for Qingdao Datong international shipping also started its sea trials.
The former is an environmental-friendly RoRo in the new generation. It has a carrying capacity of 6700 meters of lanes and 450 trailer spaces, thus handling goods efficiently and saving energy.
The latter one is seaworthy, carrying a large number of goods under the design standard of CCS. The bulker is 229m in length overall, 32.26m in width and 20.05m in depth.
