The delivery of 86,000 cbm very large gas carriers (VLGC) with LPG dual fuel
On June 23rd, the world's largest 86,000 cbm LPG dual-fuel VLGC built by Jiangnan Shipyard was delivered to Belgium shipowner Exmar.
This giant features 230 meters in length, 36.6 meters in width, 22.2meters in depth, and has a design draft of 11.5 meters. And it is equipped with four independent type-A liquid tanks and one set type-C fuel tank, which can carry propane, butane, propylene, butene, butadiene, and dimethyl ether, and the like.
Furthermore, quick switching between LPG and fuel oil can be achieved via a single button as there is a highly integrated, complex, and difficult to debug supporting software system. Another feature is data integration. All data from the control room, cargo control room, and bridge room of the vessel are merged and collected into the database. A human-machine interface is set up on the vessel, thus real-time monitoring for important parameters is carried out.
