Jiangsu, China's local government announced that it would strongly support Jiangsu's offshore facilities industry, based on its development plan for strategic emerging industry, under Jiangsu 'The 12th five-year development plan.'
The development plan appointed offshore facilities industry as a strategic emerging industry during the 12th five-year development plan, from 2011 to 2015.
Therefore, Jiangsu would speed up development of new offshore facilities, such as LNG-FPSO, SPAR, FDPSO, etc.
Also, it plans to put spurs to its focusing offshore facilities, research vessel, pipe-layer, offshore platform, offshore support vessel, etc., for instance.
Besides, Jiangsu would upscale onshore/offshore wind power generation and expand further into tidal power.

Meanwhile, shipbuilders in Nantong won a total of 20-some offshore-related vessels, valued at about $2bn, during January-November, 2011.
