Knutsen NYK Offshore Tankers (KNOT) has been awarded a contract by Eni for the charter of two newbuild LNG fueled shuttle tankers.

KNOT ordered the two 124,000 DWT Aframax shuttle tankers at DSME last week, and the total value of the contract is KRW337bn ($284m).

The vessels will operate in North Sea under time-charter contract for a maximum 10 years following delivery in mid-2022. The two tankers will adopt LNG as the primary fuel and a battery package will also be installed to save energy during DP operation.
