The Korea Shipbuilders' Association (KOSHIPA) revealed on February 21st, "KOSHIPA supports and gives a hearty welcome," in regard of South Korea and the US governments having agreed S. Korea-US FTA going into effect on March 15th.
Amid global competition getting fiercer, Korean shipbuilders consider that FTA would help Korean yards to enter and expand the US market with price competitiveness.
KOSHIPA emphasized, "The association would overcome recent global economic crisis through Kor-US FTA. Also, we would work hard to achieve $2trn export and create jobs in cooperation with equipment companies."
