Greece’s Danaos has been tipped by analysts at Alphaliner as the company behind a pair of orders for 5，900 teu ships at Qingdao Yangfan Shipyard in northeast China. The ships are estimated to cost in between $60m to $65m.

In March last year Danaos ordered two methanol-ready 7，100 teu ships at Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Company in a deal which included options for two more units.

Danaos is the sixth largest boxship tonnage provider in the world， with a fleet including ships on order totalling more than 460，000 slots.
