Dalian Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation, has successfully delivered a new 16,000 TEU eco-friendly container ship to the renowned shipping giant MSC. Named "MSC ANITA," the vessel was formally introduced and handed over to MSC during a ceremony held on January 9th.

Registered in Liberia, the ship measures 366 meters in length, has a beam of 51 meters and a gross tonnage of 153,864. The ship is designed to accommodate 16,520 standard-sized containers and can achieve a top speed of 25 knots.

The hull of the vessel features an optimized design for energy conservation, complemented by energy-saving devices and high-efficiency rudder propellers. Additionally, the ship incorporates shaft generators and air-bubble technologies.

Furthermore, both the main engine and generator of the ship are equipped with scrubbers, ensuring compliance with the latest emission standards and regulatory requirements. The vessel is also fitted with a hybrid exhaust gas cleaning system.

Although the ship is initially expected to sail using conventional fuel, it has been awarded the LNG class notation by DNV. This means that the ship's design allows for easy conversion to LNG operation.
