Chinese chemical enterprise Junzheng Group has revealed another series of stainless steel newbuilds at a domestic yard as part of its fleet renewal programme.

The Shanghai-listed group disclosed in a regulatory filing that its Dubai-registered shipping arm SC International and Hong Kong-based JZ Logistics Holding had ordered up to 10 ships at Wuchang Shipbuilding.

The deal at the CSSC-affiliated yard covers five firm and five optional 25,900 dwt vessels costing around $451m with deliveries from 2026 through to 2028.

Junzheng became China’s largest chemical tanker operator after taking over Sinochem’s fleet in 2019. The group’s Shanghai Junzheng Shipping (SC Shipping) operates around 80 chemical tankers between 3,000 dwt and 40,000 dwt.

The fleet is potentially set to expand to more than 100 ships as another series of up to ten 25,900 dwt stainless steel chemical carriers had recently been booked at China Merchants Jinling Shipyard in Yangzhou, adding to two more under construction at the same yard.

In related chemical tanker news, Wuchang has also sealed a deal with another domestic owner, Xingtong Shipping, for a pair of 25,900 dwt stainless steel units, which will be methanol-ready and delivered in the first half of 2026.
