Sweden’s Donsotank Rederi has returned to Wuhu Shipyard in China for an additional chemical tanker newbuild.

The owner and operator of five tankers on the water and two dual-fuel tankers under construction has added a third 22，500 dwt unit to its orderbook at Wuhu， taking its series at the yard since late 2018 to five.

The 167-m-long newbuild will feature LNG-LBG/diesel dual-fuel propulsion， a 500kWh battery pack，shore power connection，an SCR-catamiser， and a waste heat recovery system.

Delivery is scheduled for the middle of 2027，while the other two newbuilds booked in June 2023 should join the fleet in the third quarter of 2025 and the first quarter of 2026.

Several owners had signed up for chemical tanker tonnage in recent months，including Chinese chemical enterprise Junzheng Group，Denmark’s Rederiet MH Simonsen and Germany’s GEFO and TB Marine.
