Fujian Guohang ups bulker order tally at Wuhu
Chinese bulker owner and operator Fujian Guohang Ocean Shipping is firming up its series of methanol-ready kamsarmax newbuilds at compatriot Wuhu Shipyard.
The Beijing Stock Exchange-listed company has declared options on four more 89,000 dwt ships, bringing its orderbook at the yard to eight.
Late last year, Fujian Guohang secured newbuilding slots for up to 10 vessels at Wuhu in a deal structured with four firm units costing about $36.5m each, deliveries in 2025 and 2026, and six optional ships.
The company’s fleet expansion also continued into this year with the return to Jiangsu Haitong Offshore Engineering Equipment for a pair of 63,500 dwt ultramaxes, building on the panamax bulker series it has booked for construction at the yard.
Fujian Guohang’s fleet currently includes 10 owned bulkers and 17 newbuilding projects with the latest options called. The company said it is in talks with the yard about the final terms of the new contracts, which will be transferred to its four shipowning subsidiaries upon signing.
