Equatorial books LNG bunkering newbuild at CIMC SOE
Singapore marine fuel supplier Equatorial Marine Fuel Management Services has ordered an LNG bunkering newbuild at Chinese gas shipbuilding specialist Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering (CIMC SOE).
Price and delivery details for the 20,000 cu m vessel have not been disclosed.
The 160-m-long newbuild will sport the latest WINGD dual-fuel main engine and iCER technology to meet IMO Tier III emission standards in both conventional fuel and LNG modes, as well as an optimized cargo containment system with a lower boil-off rate compared to similar-sized vessels.
Equatorial operates more than 20 ships. The company was the top bunker supplier in Singapore, the world’s largest bunker hub, in 2023, maintaining its top position for a second consecutive year.
CIMC SOE, the yard formerly known as Sinopacific Offshore before it was taken over by CIMC Enric in 2017, also recently secured an order for up to two 12,000 cu m LNG bunker vessels from China’s Fuzhou Wuyang Refined Oil Trading, with delivery expected in 2027.
