Daewoo to Ink FLNG Order

Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering of South Korea is close to finalizing a FLNG project with Malaysian state-owned oil major Petronas.
Sources said that Daewoo and Technip consortium will sign a formal contract with Petronas on June 5, which will be Daewoo's first FLNG order this year.
An anonymous official from Daewoo said, "Daewoo has contracted for several FLNG designs, however, this will be the first FLNG newbuilding contract.
The LNG-FPSO will be used to develop its Kanowit gas discoveries off Sarawak in East Malaysia.
Petronas' the second FLNG is now at the bidding stage, offered by four consortia, including Daewoo, Samsung HI, Hyundai HI and Japan's IHI Shipbuilding.
