Chinese shipyards are plunging into feeder containership orderings.
Jinhai Heavy Industries is being linked to an order of four feeder-size boxships. It is said to have inked a letter of intent (LOI) with an unnamed Chinese owner for the 2,000-teu quartet.
The going price for such ships in China is around $26m, which suggests the order could be worth around $100m in total.
Meanwhile, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding inked an order for 1,100-teu vessels from  Lomar Shipping and Guangzhou Wenchong Shipyard contracted two 2,200-teu newbuildings with two plus two options more with the Greek owner.
