Trading Giants Focus on Bulk Carriers

According to TradeWinds, Cargill has recently ordered six Capesize bulker at Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipyard. At the same time , the world’s biggest processing enterprise of oilseeds, corn and wheat Archer Daniels Midland, grain trade Bunge group and other big traders globally also began to buy bulker assets recently.
It is reported that Cargill has signed LOI with Waigaoqiao shipyard for the construction of three new vessels at a cost of $46.0m -47.0m apiece. The vessel number will double if the optional units in the contract take effect. The contract price is said to be the same with the order fixed in 2012 between the shipyard and Frontline.
Cargill has always been the leader of environmental protection in ship industry , so the new ships will be of consumption-reducing and emission-controlling design.
