Dry-bulk market sees ordering rush with the start of this year.
According to DNB Markets, during the first two months of 2013, a total of 5m-dwt newbuilding bulkers have been ordered, which represents 30m dwt on an annualized basis.
The amount of 30m dwt accounts for 4% of global bulker fleet and 40% more of those contracted in 2012, 21.2m dwt.
In January 2.4m dwt was contracted, comparing with 3.7m dwt booked during the same month of last year.
And February marked the highest monthly record since August 2012 with 2.6m dwt.
