China Ship Export down 32%

China's ship export record during the first two months of this year continue to see a downturn as in January 2012. Although ship import increased, month-on-month growth slightly declined.
According to the latest report from general administration of Customs of China, during January-February period of the year, China's total amount of ship export stood at $4.75bn, down by 31.6% year-on-year, while total ship import slightly rose by 3.1% year-on-year to $270m.
In February alone, total ship export posted $1.87bn, down by 25.6% year-on-year and decreased by $1.02bn month-on-month. Total ship import dropped by 39.3% against the same month of last year and declined by $83m from the previous month to $90.92m.
