Samjin Shipbuilding Industries announced that it signed a contract with German shipowner H. Vogemann to build four 36,000DWT Eco-design bulkers on May 13th.
The deal includes four additional options.
The newbuildings will be build to the latest Eco-design and have 15% higher fuel efficiency than existing vessels.
They will be delivered from the end of 2014 onwards.
Meanwhile, the China-based Korean shipbuilder has won 19 newbuilding orders year-to-date, including two 6,500DWT product carriers, 13 36K BCs from Bocimar, Oldendorff, Ultrabulk and the latest H. Vogemann's orders.
