Korean Ship Export on Recovery
While South Gyeongsang Province of Korea showed its total value of export in June increased by 14% year on year with $6.09bn, ship exports are found to have rebounded greatly.
According to ‘Export-import trend report of South Gyeongsang in June, 2013’ released by South Gyeongsang branch of the Korea International Trade Association, total amount of import increased by 16% from a year ago to $2.8bn and especially that of export succeeded in rebounding in June after 11 consecutive negative growths since July, 2012.
Among items for export, vessels showed a 51% increase in June, the greatest improvement of all.
A total of $3.73bn of vessels have been exported to Europe, including Hungary, Greece, Denmark, UK, Russia, etc., as well as Panama, China and so on solely in June.
