China Shipping Container Lines Co., Ltd. (CSCL) took the delivery of the world's largest containership from Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. (HHI) in Ulsan, South Korea on November 18, according to eworldship.com.

The container vessel measures 400 meters in length over all (LOA) and close to 60 meters in breadth, which is the biggest and most advanced containership worldwide.

The vessel is the first of five 19,000 TEU containerships ordered by CSCL from the South Korean shipbuilding giant on May 2013. The order totals $700 million.

This ship series is jointly designed and developed by HHI and China Shipping (Group) Company.

It is worth noting that the ship can save about 20 percent fuel compared with 10,000 TEU containerships, the report said.
