CSSC Guangzhou Huangpu Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. entered into a contract with Tianjin Southwest Maritime Ltd. for the construction of 2+2 12,800 dwt asphalt vessels at the end of November, according to a domestic news report.

The China-based shipbuilder once built six 5,900 dwt asphalt ships for COSCO during 2006 and 2008, which were very popular in the European chartering market thanks to their reliable quality, the report noted.
