SOE to Deliver 2 More Multi-Gas Carriers
Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering (SOE) plans to deliver two more 27,500cbm multi-gas (LNG/ethane/LEG/LPG) carriers by the end of 2015 to Evergas, following the delivery of the first newbuilding on May 28.
According to SOE, the company held a technical delivery ceremony on May 28 for the first 27,500cbm multi-gas carrier of a total of six newbuildings ordered by Evergas.
The second vessel is about to start sea trials. The second and third vessels are set for delivery this year, with the remainders scheduled for delivery in 2016.
SOE's product portfolio covers a full range of gas transportation vessels.
This vessel is fitted with the world's biggest independent C-type bi-lobe tanks, which are capable of carrying various types of gasses such as LNG, ethane, LEG, and LPG. It is also equipped with a dual-fuel engine, an electric generator, a dual-fuel gas supply, and cargo-handling systems supplied by Wärtsilä.
The vessel was constructed jointly by SOE and Sinopacific Shipbuilding Group, both subsidiaries of Evergreen Holdings. SOE was responsible for constructing the tanks and cargo system, while the hull was built by Sinopacific Shipbuilding.
