Compagnie Maritime Belge's (CMB) container unit Delphis has acquired the Santa Regula and its twin, Santa Regina, from German owner Reederei Claus-Peter Offen.
The two 4,922teu vessels were built in 2005 at Hyundai Heavy Industries in Ulsan, South Korea and have been working for Japan's Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL). While VesselsValue.com, the online pricing platform, suggests the pair are worth US$21.8m each, other brokers suggest the likely paid figure was US$18.5m.
Delphis's fleet is now close to 25 vessels.
The sale leaves the seller, Reederei Claus-Peter Offen, with 13 panamax containerships in its fleet.
