South Korea's Busan-based Dae Sun Shipyard has been contracted to construct a single container vessel by the compatriot owner.

The 1,800teu eco container ship has been ordered by Dongjin Shipping, with delivery expected in early 2017.

The vessel is designed to enter the draft-restricted port of Bangkok, which can only accommodate ships with a maximum length of 172m and a draught of 8.2m.

The shipyard, which delivered a 1,000teu vessel to Dongjin Shipping in May, currently has an orderbook of 19 vessels, which includes eight chemical/product tankers, two fishing vessels, and nine container vessels.
