China's CSBC Corporation, Taiwan (CSBC) has signed a contract with the compatriot shipping company T.S.LINES CO., LTD. for the construction of two 1800teu containerships (plus two options), according to a domestic shipping news portal.

The new vessels are expected to be delivered in the second half of 2017. The contract value has not been disclosed, but an insider said that each new ship will cost approximately US$25m.

The order is the first newbuilding contract received by CSBC this year.
