Greek dry bulk and small containership owner Goldenport Holdings has sold 2,113teu containership Thira (28,370dwt, built 1997) for US$6.85m.

The vessel was sold to BSL Thira Shipping which indicates Balaji Shipping, part of the Transworld Group, as the likely new owner. It is scheduled for delivery.

Goldenport said that after brokerage it expects to realize a book profit of around US$2.4m on the disposal, which will be applied towards the repayment of debt secured against the vessel and increasing the company's liquidity.

The sale leaves Goldenport, which recently revealed itself as an acquisition target for an unknown buyer, with five containerships ranging between 976teu and 5,551teu.
