Swedish shipping company Tarbit Shipping AB has ordered two 9,400dwt asphalt and bitumen carriers to be constructed by Turkey's RMK Marine.

The ships will be built to Bureau Veritas class including Ice Class 1A, and will have a cargo capacity of 7,200m3.

The design of the vessels was made in close collaboration between Tarbit and FKAB, Uddevalla, Sweden.

The 9.400dwt tankers are designed with a special hull form that gives minimum resistance and a very low bunker consumption, according to Tarbit.

The vessels are equipped with Energopac rudder design, including a flap and strong bow thruster.
