Introduction: A maritime event you cannot afford to miss!
●Your gateway to the No.1 shipbuilding hub in China
CIMPS-Europort invites you to join us in the beating heart of the largest shipbuilding country in the world. Nanjing, on the banks of  the Yangze River, known throughout China as the Golden Waterway, is the hub of the No.1 shipbuilding area of China. The Yangtze River Delta is the ecnomic engine in China. This has been especially noticeable in the shipbuilding industry where the total import during 2010 reached 217 million US Dollar, one quarter of the total Chinease import. Over 80 big shipyards in the Jiangsu province alone are rapidly developing and the need for import is increasing daily. Add to this that the Jiangsu Coastal Campaign has become a national strategy for China as a whole and you will find that demand for your products might increase drastically in the time to come.

●Special purpose ships & advanced technology
Jiangsu’s shipbuilding industry accounts for 35-40% of all shipbuilding in the entire country (15.3% of the world’s output) but is not exclusively known for the high output. The area is also renowned for its development towards a region where evermore technologically advanced vessels are being produced. Something the rest of the Chinese regions are still not ready for. There is a higher focus on more specialized ships here than anywhere else in China and yards are busy building dredging and construction vessels amongst others. Jiangsu is known far and wide to be an area of high technological degree and its universities have added to this level of knowledge.
The fact that the Jiangsu area is such a frontrunner in the Chinese shipbuilding industry provides a lot of opportunities for international suppliers of maritime equipment as there is a consistently high demand for these products. The local manufacturers can not meet the needs of the yards, which leads to chances for international suppliers and innovators.

● Strong governmental support
CIMPS-Europort is supported by Maritime Safety Administration of People’s Republic of China, China Association of the National Shipbuilding Industry, the Chinese Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineering, China Shipowners’ Association, China Chamber of Commerce for Import & Export of Machinery & Electronic Products Ship Branch, Jiangsu Association of Shipbuilding Industry and Jiangsu Provincial Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineering. The 2011 edition is sponsored by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China, the Jiangsu Provincial People's Government, the Jiangsu Economy and information Technology of China, the Department of Commerce of Jiangsu Province, Nanjing Municipal People’s Government and the Trade Development Bureau of Ministry of Commerce, PRC. CSSC (The China State Shipbuilding Corporation) has agreed to support CIMPS-Europort as co-organizer from 2012 onwards meaning that a staggering 2/3 of the Chinese Shipbuilding industry are within grasps of exhibitors at the event!

● Simultaneous Offshore Technology, Equipment Exhibition & Conference
China's offshore industry moves into the fast lane. Chinese shipyards, especially those in Jiangsu, are ready to diversify into offshore engineering which creates a need for technical design and knowhow. Alongside CIMPS-Europort, the Offshore Technology, Equipment Exhibition & Conference---OTE, will be held in Nanjing International Expo Centre. The opportunities offered by China’s focus on its natural oil & gas fields are combined with the new chances renewable energy will bring to the region. By organizing both exhibitions simultaneously, a large portion of visitors with an equal interest in both maritime technology as well as the offshore industry will be drawn to visit each show, as the need for advanced technologies is equally large in both sectors.

● CIMPS-Europort — one of the major branch events of China's Maritime Day
2012 China's Maritime Day will be held by Nanjing Municipal Peoples’ Government. As one of the China's Maritime Day’s major branch events in Nanjing, China International Marine, Port & Shipbuilding Fair will greet and celebrate this great ceremony with unprecedented excellence.
China's Maritime Day — With the approval of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, started from 2005, July 11 has been designated as China's Maritime Day to commemorate Zheng He's first voyage to the West.
