John Fredriksen is said to have ordered up to six very large gas carriers (VLGC) at Jiangnan Shipyard in Shanghai, China.
Shipbrokers said Monday that the price is expected to be well below $70m per ship.
Further, they are reportedly going to be built to a fuel-efficient design.
