A domestic buyer is said to have paid more than $40m for a completed capesize newbuilding at Orient Shipyard in South Korea.
Brokers said the 180,000-dwt Sag Bulk China was owned by Heungkuk of South Korea, who originally ordered it from Orient’s greenfield site in Gwangyang in 2007.
The IMO’s Equasis database lists it as being owned by Bulk China in 2010, but subsequently up for sale.
