Russia’s Atomflot is to order a large nuclear-powered icebreaker worth around $1.4bn.
At 32,400-gt and with power system totaling 60 MW (about 82,500 BHP), the LK60 will be the largest and most powerful of its type ever built.
The state-owned company has yet to decide whether the vessel will be built in Russia or at an International shipyard, brokers say.
Atomflot wants the ship to be in the water by 2018.
