Mingde Secures PSV Pair

China’s Sainty Marine has announced through a regulatory filing that it won a contract for construction of two Platform Supply Vessels (PSVs) from Norwegian shipowner together with Nantong Mingde Heavy Industry and China Chengdu Import & Export Group (CCIE).
The newbuildings are believed to be costing around $72m apiece, totaling about CNY 900m ($147m) worth of contact value.
The contract is comprised of two sub-contracts; one is an outside contract signed by Sainty Marine, Mingde and CCIE as vendors while the shipowner is a purchaser and the other one is an inside contract between Sainty Marine and Mingde that Sainty Marine is to acquire the vessel which is planned to be constructed by Mingde.
