Shipping lines join forces to launch two new Asian services

Evergreen and Hanjin Shipping have joined forces to create a new intra-Asia service network while Wan Hai Lines and Yang Ming have also jointly launched a new Asian service.

Evergreen and Hanjin Shipping have created New Ho Chi Minh Service (NHS) to link South Korea, China, Vietnam, Singapore and Malaysia.

The weekly NHS service, due to start on 22 November, will employ four ships each with a 2,500-teu capacity, one supplied by Evergreen and the rest by Hanjin Shipping. The port rotation is Kwangyang, Busan, Shanghai, Shekou, Ho Chi Minh City, Singapore, Port Klang, Penang, Tanjung Pelepas, Singapore, Ho Chi Minh City and Kwangyang.

Meanwhile, Wan Hai Lines and Yang Ming will introduce a new direct service to link the ports of Japan, South Korea and China to Vietnam.

The joint service, called KCV, will be rotated with three vessels of 1,200 teu each, with Wan Hai Lines deploying two and Yang Ming providing one.

KCV, scheduled to start on 29 November, will have a port rotation of Osaka, Kobe, Kwangyang, Busan, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Shekou, Cat Lai, Shekou, Hong Kong, and Osaka.
