Taiwan-based First Steamship has acquired one 58,000 dwt bulk carrier from Orix Corporation for US$28.35m.

The vessel is due for delivery in 2016.

Earlier this month, the company acquired a 58,086 dwt bulk carrier from Pana Star Line.

Taiwan Stock Exchange-listed First Steamship is one of the leading dry bulk shipping companies in Taiwan. It currently operates eight bulk carriers with a total deadweight tonnage of approximately 450,282 dwt.
