Greek ship manager Thenamaris (Ships Management) Inc, has exercised an option for the construction of two 158,580 dwt tankers at South Korean shipbuilder Hyundai Heavy Samho Industries.

The delivery is scheduled for 2017.

The latest order brings the company's orderbook to 11 newbuildings, reaching a total capacity of over one million tons deadweight.

These include two Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs), three Suezmax tankers, four Aframax product carriers, and two Aframax crude carriers.

Out of this orderbook, nine vessels are expected to join Thenamaris' fleet in 2017, one in 2016 and one in 2018.
