Chinese shipyard Dalian COSCO KHI Ship Engineering Co., Ltd. (DACKS), jointly invested by China Ocean Shipping Group Company (COSCO) and Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. (KHI), held a naming ceremony for a 61,000dwt bulk carrier built for the compatriot owner China Merchants Energy Shipping Co., Ltd. on Oct. 15, according to a domestic shipping news report.
It is the first time that China Merchants Energy Shipping ordered a newbuilding at DACKS.
The newbuilding measures 199.90m in length overall, 32.24m in width moulded, and 18.60m in depth moulded. Its service speed hits 15.8 knots.
